Cactus Slingers - Dueling Card Game

Cactus Slingers is an western shootout card game of chaos and strategy where 2-4 players duel to see who is the sharpest cactus in town! I’ve obsessively put hours into both the art and gameplay of Cactus Slingers. The game is currently going through a rigorous process of blind playtesting and being refined pretty much weekly.

“You step foot onto the dusty high street of Prickleton. You are a hard plant, with nothin’ to lose. You got your cactus gun, and cactus ammo and you’re lookin’ to be the sharpest shot in town. But to gain that title you’ll have to duel for it. Other Cactus Slingers from all over Cactopia have come to take you on. Will you be able to outmatch these rough riders and take the crown of Cactus King of the West? Or will you leave, broken and bruised, stuck full of cacti?”

Goals: To make a fast paced, simultaneous play western shootout game that that produces memorable and fun moments of gameplay. Inspirations include, 5 Minute Dungeon, Grimslingers, and Pathfinders ACG.
Implementation: A labor of love, Cactus Slingers is designed and illustrated by me from the ground up. With tons of help from an insatiable game night group and a few patient, experienced and honest play testers (friends), the game has become something truly fun and exciting to play.
